Abstract

The development of practical skills and meaningful learning are crucial in dental training. A systematic review of scientific articles between 2016 and 2023 identified 11 relevant studies. Teaching strategies included virtual reality simulation, video demonstrations, e-learning, and hands-on practice on anatomical models. In addition, methods such as the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle and the Peyton methods were used, with reported effectiveness in learning and developing skills in dental surgery. All of these strategies were associated with a high degree of student satisfaction. Despite the variety of evidence available, the need to delve deeper into this field is highlighted. The conclusions highlight the diversity and effectiveness of the teaching strategies identified, underlining their importance in dental training and the need to continue research in this area to improve educational practice in this specialized field.
