Emotional competencies of educational managers: Emerging change in the digital age

Abstract

This study analyzes the emerging change in the emotional competencies of educational managers in the face of the digital age and its impact on the educational system in Ecuador. A systematic bibliographic review was conducted of the scientific literature on emotional competencies, educational leadership, and the digital age. The results indicate that emotional competencies are fundamental for the success of educational managers in the digital age, and there is an urgent need to develop them in the Ecuadorian context. Various strategies are proposed for their development, highlighting that investment in this area is crucial for the future of the country's education. It is concluded that emotionally intelligent leadership is the basis for building a more just, inclusive, and quality educational system. Concrete actions are required to train educational managers in these competencies, promote a culture of learning, and raise awareness of their importance among the educational community.
