Organizational Writing Skills in Academic Writing by Third-Level Students.

Writing in university students must demonstrate a level of coherence, cohesion, syntax and of course correct spelling as they are quasi-professionals who will later look for a job or continue teaching, so this serves as a necessary aspect not only communicatively, but also allows statements to be supported with evidence. The objective of the article was to analyze the organizational skills of writing in the academic research writing of third-level students in the canton of Azogues. The methodology applied in this case consisted of a non-experimental design, an empirical study method, a descriptive level in order to know in detail the organizational skills of the writing in the academic writing of the third level students of Dentón Azogues in the province of Cañar, with a mixed approach, that is, qualitative-quantitative, under a field modality, considering as a population of 32 university students from the previously mentioned locality to whom surveys were applied. The results showed that the majority of students first look for sources of information for the purpose of the topic they want to address before writing; however, there are aspects such as not achieving cohesion and coherence in writing, which limits itself to presenting its academic writings. It is concluded that university students are interested in improving their academic writing, but they do not achieve cohesion and coherence in the entire structure of their presented documents, which is a main limitation.
