Distributed Educational Leadership: A Collaborative Approach to Improve School Performance and Pedagogical Innovation

The bibliographic review article addresses the existing concatenation between distributed educational leadership, school performance and pedagogical innovation, alternating an imbrication from a direction with a sense of socio-educational co-responsibility. Whereas, when analyzing a significant accumulation of documentary sources and scientific research, it is described how management in the context of basic education represents a crossroads of integral development, being a multifocal process, where the administrative, pedagogical and academic are potentiated from a management, whose fertilization transits through the competencies of a humanizing guide, where the teacher with a managerial function does not assume a complexion of leadership, but is reconfigured from a shared vision and practice, in a leader who facilitates the consolidation of institutional goals, valued by a complexion of whole, whose cultivation constitutes a multifocal organic system, where school competencies are achieved from the pedagogical construction. The study shows that, from an educational perspective, distributed leadership encourages the active participation of all members of the training community in decision-making and in the search for solutions to the challenges faced by the institution. This promotes an environment of collaboration and commitment, in which diversity of opinions is valued and work is done for the common good. Likewise, this approach managerial, implies a change in the organizational structure, generating the decentralization of power and the distribution of responsibilities. This leads to greater autonomy and empowerment of work teams, which in turn translates into greater efficiency in resource management and in the implementation of strategies aimed at continuous improvement.
