This study promotes innovative strategies to ensure quality education at all levels. One of these strategies, Project Based Learning (PBL), promotes constructive learning by integrating knowledge and skills in solving real problems. The purpose of this study was to apply the project-based learning methodology strategy through action research methodology to determine its impact on 158 high school students in an educational institution. To this end, an educational project was carried out in the subject of physical education and a questionnaire was subsequently applied to evaluate the students' impressions of the project. In the results of the questionnaire, we were able to identify a positive trend of PBL methodology in the area of physical education in the five dimensions evaluated: clarity of the project, collaborative environment, teacher support and motivation, interdisciplinary application, resources used, development of transversal skills and transfer of learning; reflecting high levels of satisfaction. Students not only perceived that the PBL helped them to clearly understand the objectives and steps of the project, but also valued the collaborative environment and teacher support as essential to its success.
